Nuvei to Acquire Payoneer in $2.75 Billion All-Cash Deal
Canadian payment processor Nuvei has agreed to acquire cross-border payments firm Payoneer Global for $2.75 billion in an all-cash transaction. The deal, priced at $7.40 per share, represents a 44% premium over Payoneer's closing price on June 8. Shareholders responded positively, with Payoneer's stock climbing 3.4% in premarket trading following the announcement.
The acquisition combines Nuvei's global payment processing capabilities—spanning 200 markets and 720 alternative payment methods—with Payoneer's expertise in cross-border money movement and multi-currency management. Together, the merged entity will serve 2.4 million customers across 190 countries, handling over $500 billion in annual payment volume and generating approximately $3 billion in combined revenue.
Regulatory approvals and shareholder consent remain pending, with completion expected by mid-2027. Payoneer's client roster includes major platforms like Amazon, Walmart, and Airbnb.
